Grønne Strand is located innermost in the bay Jammerbugten and in the middle of almost untouched nature.


Holiday Grønne Strand, NW Jutland, DenmarkGrønne Strand is a unique conservation area with inland dunes, heather and pine trees, located directly by the roaring North Sea with the long, white and sandy beaches and the impressive dunes. In Grønne Strand you will find Denmark's only preserved windmill, which is covered with heather on all sides, and close by the beautiful and restored seaside hotel Svinkløv Badehotel is located.
It is possible to buy groceries in Slettestrand, and the nearest commercial town is Fjerritslev, which offers good shopping opportunities and more restaurants (9 km). Grønne Strand is an ideal holiday destination if you wish to swim, relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings, but if you wish more, a short drive will bring you to holiday resorts, golf courses, amusement parks and sights for the whole family.

Beach
The beach of Grønne Strand is a broad, white and sandy beach with a few stones. Motoring is not allowed on the beach.
On the gravel road, which leads down towards the beach, you can experience tractors with boat trailers. They belong to the leisure-time fishermen, who tend the nets from the open beach.

Nature
Grønne StrandGrønne Strand is a large, untouched and hilly nature area with forest and heathery moor areas. The southern part of the area is characterized by lakes, which come into existence because of the digging for pebbles.
Grønne Strand is located close to Svinkløv, which is famous for its beautiful and well-preserved seaside hotel as well as the plantation Svinkløv Plantage. You can follow an old German concrete road, which leads through the forest and out to the spot Sømærket. Here you stand high above the sea and are able to enjoy a magnificent view of the North Sea and the moor areas of Grønne Strand.
Fosdalen is a large, undulating and very scenic valley with a stream in the bottom, and it debouches into Lien - the country's largest inland hillside, which is 66 m high and stretches from Tranum to Grønne Strand (11 km).
Bulbjerg is Denmark's only bird cliff, and the sea bird, the kittiwake, breeds on the steep sides of the cliff (27 km).

Activities
For hiking enthusiasts the area has plenty to offer. The good and marked walking paths in the area between Grønne Strand and Svinkløv/Slette Strand lead you round to the most scenic spots of the area.
It is possible to fish directly from the beach or in one of the Put & Take fishponds of the area. If you wish to fish on deeper water, you can god fishing on the reef Det Gule Rev (2 hours from Hanstholm) onboard a fishing vessel (55 km).
Golfers can test the courses of Jammerbugtens Golfklub near Fjerritslev, where the 18-hole course has been naturally landscaped (9 km), Blokhus Klit Golfklub with both an 18-hole and a 9-hole course (28 km) or Nordvestjysk Golfklub near Klitmøller, which offers one of the most challenging and scenically situated courses in the country (64 km).

Worth a visit
Grønne StrandVisit the beautifully restored seaside hotel Svinkløv Badehotel, which is very scenically situated on the beach near Grønne Strand.
The area, surrounding Grønne Strand, is rich in artist craftsmen, who create and exhibit pottery, stoneware, raku and glass art in their workshops and galleries.
The brewery museum 'Fjerritslev Bryggeri- og Egnsmuseum' is Northern Europe's best-preserved rural brewery. The brewery appears like in the old days with 100-years old coppers, fermenting tubs and beer barrels. The brewer farm Bryggergården, which has been converted to a museum, also contains a malt house and a bottling hall (9 km). In Fjerritslev you can also visit Han Herred Naturcenter and learn more about the nature and animal life of the area.

Excursion spots
The fortification Aggersborg near Aggersund contains traces of 48 long houses. By the stronghold you can see an exhibition about the construction of the castle (20 km).
Kokkedal Slot near Brovst is an impressive castle with three wings in 2 stories with a very interesting history (25 km).
The 47 m high calcareous rock Bulbjerg is inhabited by sea birds, and from the cliff you can enjoy a magnificent vies of the bay Jammerbugten. Visit the small exhibition in the bunker on the top of the cliff - Denmark's only bird cliff (27 km).
In the amusement park Fårup Sommerland & Aquapark you can try out more than 50 interesting entertainments for the whole family, including Denmark's largest aquapark and Denmark's longest switchback Falken (52 km).
Visit Museumscenter Hanstholm - Northern Europe's largest fortress with a bunker. On the museum ground you can experience exhibitions, canons, uniforms, weapons etc. (55 km).
