The lovely holiday house area by Lyngså is situated right at the lovely beach of the Kattegat.
Lyngså is a quiet holiday destination, surrounded by lovely nature with forest, beach and undulating, open landscapes. The area is situated about 10 km south of the cosy market town Sæby. Lyngså is an ideal place for the family, who wishes to spend the holiday in peaceful surroundings and still be close to leisure activities and sights. It is possible to buy groceries in the area.
Beach The beach 'Sønderklit Strand' by Lyngså has dunes, good bathing conditions and the Blue Flag. The beach is very suitable for children and famous for its white sand. The water is shallow and the bottom is sandy. It is possible to find amber and interesting shells here after a storm with wind from the south-west. The conditions are very good for windsurfers here.
Nature The nature is very varied here with old pine forests, open, undulating areas, fields, bathing beaches and dunes. From more places in the area you will have a beautiful view of the sea and the landscape.
Activities The water and wind conditions in Lyngså make the area very attractive for windsurfers. A golf course and tennis courts are available in the area. Anglers can throw in the line both from the shore and in the local Put & Take fishponds of the area. Lovely nature experiences await you along the many walking and bicycle routes of the area.
Worth a visit The beautiful church of Lyngså with the corbie gables is situated on the hill, just south of the town. From the cemetery you will have a magnificent view of the sea and the landscape. Visit the peaceful and idyllic town Voerså. By the old inn you can rent rowboats and water cycles, sail up the stream and experience the genuine Danish nature (5 km). The castle 'Voergård Slot' by Flauenskjold is one of Denmark's most beautiful Renaissance buildings and is with its park, moats, French art treasures and fine collections of furniture and interior definitely worth a visit.
Excursion spots Experience the charming market town Sæby. Here you will find old, well-preserved houses, pedestrian streets, streets of cobble stones, the watermill by the stream 'Sæby Å', a cosy harbour atmosphere with a marina, a lovely beach, which is suitable for children, as well as a long path along the beach. Furthermore you will find a glass factory, good shopping possibilities and more restaurants. In the harbour it is possible to buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen (10 km). Frederikshavn is a good commercial town, from where you can go on a daytrip to the lake Læsø or Sweden. A drive to the top of the hills behind Sæby and Frederikshavn provides you with a lovely view over the water, the harbour, the town and the landscape. In the amusement park 'Fårup Sommerland & Aquapark' by the holiday town Blokhus you can try out more than 50 exciting activities for the whole family. When the entry has been paid for, all activities are available for free.
