Bisnap is situated in lovely nature surroundings by the gentle shores of the Kattegat, 2 km north of the holiday town Hals.
The child-friendly beach, the scenic nature and the many leisure activities make Bisnap an ideal holiday destination for families with children. A grocery store is available in the area, and only a short walk, bicycle trip or drive from Bisnap brings you to the old fishing hamlet Hals, where you will find more sights, a cosy marina, an old part of town, good shopping possibilities and many restaurants.
Beach Bisnap has a tempting beach with low dunes and Blue Flag. The beach is very suitable for children as it is traffic-free and has shallow water, small waves and a sandy bottom. To fly with a kite of a model plane are popular activities here on the beach.
Nature Behind the dunes of the beach, the scenic and hilly forest areas stretch far into the land. More places around Bisnap the forest grows all the way out to the beach. The nature between the forest areas are characterized by undulating landscapes with meadows and marshes.
Activities During the summer various leisure activities like a town fair, exhibitions, markets and sport meets are arranged in the town Hals. Furthermore the town offers a golf course and a bowling alley. A swimming baths is available in a holiday centre in the town. Anglers have good possibilities for a haul both from the shore as well as in the Put & Take fishponds of the area. On the local farm 'Koldkærgård' it is possible to rent riding horses. Good nature experiences await you along the many marked walking paths and bicycle routes of the area.
Worth a visit Hals is a cosy holiday town with a vivid and harbour atmosphere. From here you can go on a 5 minutes ferry trip over the Liim Fiord to the town Egense. In Hals the jaws and the vertebras of a blue whale are displayed. The fortress 'Hals Skanse' is situated by the mouth of the Liim Fiord. The powder magazine and the arsenal are preserved and a museum has been established in the latter. The museum of Hals shows an exhibition of local history about the sea, inlet, town, fortress, war and occupation.
Excursion spots Visit the peaceful and idyllic town Voerså. By the old inn you can rent rowboats and water cycles, sail up the stream and experience the genuine Danish nature (25 km). The castle 'Voergård Slot' by Flauenskjold is one of Denmark's most beautiful Renaissance buildings and is with its park, moats, French art treasures and fine collections of furniture and interior definitely worth a visit. Aalborg is the 'capital' of northern Jutland. Here you will find art, culture, pedestrian streets, the charming old town centre, the amusement street 'Jomfru Ane Gade' and various restaurants (30 km). Experience the charming market town Sæby. Here you will find old, well-preserved houses, pedestrian streets, streets of cobble stones, the watermill by the stream 'Sæby Å', a cosy harbour atmosphere with a marina, a lovely bathing beach, which is suitable for children, as well as a long path along the beach. Sæby also offers good shopping possibilities and more restaurants (40 km).
