Det Gamle Rådhus, Ribe

Close to the cathedral you will find the old town hall 'Det Gamle Rådhus', which is a remarkable building. It was finished about 500 years ago - at the time when Columbus discovered America. A part of the town hall has been converted into a museum, and here you can see the awe-inspiring spiked mace of the watchman as well as the sword of the executioner among other things. Furthermore, the museum contains various mediaeval instrument of torture.
