Tobaksladen

The tobacco-drying shed 'Tobaksladen' is scenically situated between Tranekær and Tullebølle. The barn has been fully restored and is Denmark's only preserved tobacco drying shed from World War 2. In the barn you will find a small museum with mementoes from the tobacco growing during the wartime and information about the history of the tobacco. On a small area by the southern side of the barn, tobacco plants, which originate from the seeds of the wartime plants, are still grown. The barn is open in the summer half and the entry is free. Furthermore, you have access to the private garden, which surrounds the tobacco barn, and here you can enjoy your lunch baskets.
