Textilforum

Textilforum has been established in the large industrial plant of the cloth mill 'Herning Klædefabrik', which was founded as a wool-spinning mill in the year 1876. The restored plant is vitalized by means of exhibitions and workshops, and shows different aspects from the textile production. Textilforum contains an exhibition of clothes collections, from which the oldest originates from the 18th. and 19th. century. The collections embrace various products from the hosiery shops of those days, a large collection of bathing suits, the suits of private lady tailors as well as clothes collections from individual persons among other things. Besides the textiles, the museum also shows a large collection of hand tools and textile machines. A café and a shop are also available on the spot.
