Sophienholm

The art museum Sophienholm is scenically located near the lake Bagsværd Sø and the forest Frederiksdal Storskov. The country home was originally built in 1768, and has afterwards been gently restored. Today, the buildings appear classicistic and elegant. The main building of Sophienholm is used for varying art exhibitions. Here you can experience exhibitions with relevant themes, separate exhibitions with significant artists and current art historical exhibitions. During the exhibitions periods you can join a free, guided tour every Sunday at 3 p.m.
In the stable building you can admire the ceiling, which consists of paintings of the art group COBRA - among others Asger Jorn and Carl-Henning Pedersen. In the sculpture garden you can experience unique sculptures by famous artists. On the site you will also find beautiful gardens and greenhouses as well as Sophienholm Cafeteria, which offers delicious dishes and cosy atmosphere.
