Skarrild-Karstoft Museum
If you pass the church, which is located in the centre of Skarrild, you will come across a lovely small museum: Skarrild-Karstoft Museum - also called 'Kirkely' (church shelter). The museum is a small, 130-years old house with thatched roof. It is situated in the green area between the church and the main street, and definitely worth a visit. Among other things you can see the memorial room for the 7 allied pilots, who were attacked in their Lancaster airplane and crashed on a field near Skarrild in August 1944. All pilots were killed in the accident and given a Christian burial on the cemetery of the town by the citizens of Skarrild.
