Sæby Museum

In the beautiful half-timbered house ¿Konsul Ørums Gaard¿ in Sæby you can experience the development and history of the region ¿ from the mediaeval convent town to the present port and industrial town. Artists, writers and tourist were attracted by the scenic nature and idyll of Sæby during the 19th century. The museum contains exhibitions about the artists of Sæby and the old tourism. See among other things a boarding house room from around World War I. Back then the favourite excursion spot of the tourists was the shady and romantic beech forest of the manor house Sæbygaard, which was preferred to the beach. The museum also exhibits a school collection with needlework, a classroom from 1920 and a general store. Furthermore, varying exhibitions are displayed on the spot.
