Vendsyssel historiske Museum - Hirtshals

The museum is located in a fishing house, which was build out of granite boulders in the year 1880. Visit the living room of Jens Gaardbo from app. 1912 and hear stories about the fishery in Hirtshals, the past, the life-saving service and the distillation of schnapps. The boathouse contains two of the oldest, local boat types. If you drop by in the month of July you can experience the making of sails and nets, and meanwhile you can taste one of the many fish specialities.
