Nationalmuseet

The national museum is Denmark's national, culture-historical museum. The exhibitions inform of both Danish history and foreign cultures. Visit the different departments of the museum, which is situated in the centre of Copenhagen as well as in the area Mølleå, in the northern part of the city. In the palace Prinsens Palæ you will find a collection about the prehistoric Denmark, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in Denmark as well as the royal collection of coins and medals. The museum of freedom Frihedsmuseet, which informs about the Danish Resistance, and the open-air museum Frilandsmuseet with its 45 farms, houses and mills from Denmark, the southern part of Sweden, the northern part of Germany and the Faroe islands are also worth seeing.
