Emil Aarestrup (1800-1856) lived in Nysted from 1827 to 1838 and functioned as poet and doctor. During this period he created some of his most significant works. The home of the poet has been restored and today it appears as it could have looked in Aarestrup's life about 170 years ago. The house can be visited according to a previous arrangement, and here you can be informed about the life and lifestyle of Aarestrup during the golden age.
