Hørvævsmuseet på Krengerup

Most of the woven fabrics originate from the 1930'ies. The were manufactured on a weaving mill and today they can be seen on the estate Krengerup Gods in a former cowhouse from 1860. The weaving hall is situated in a building of a more recent date, and here volunteers meet a few mornings a week in order to weave, repair the old machines and start new activities. By means of these activities, the old trade remains in people's memories. As the old looms make a lot of noise, the weaving doesn't take place during the opening hours of the museum. However, it is possible to see a Jacquard loom in action during a guided tour. Visit the light and friendly café as well. Here you can buy coffee, tea, cake, soft drinks and ice creams. Furthermore, varying exhibitions regarding the art of weaving and handicraft in general are displayed in the café. The museum shop offers f.x. woven napkins and dinner mats.
