Højer Mølle- og Marskmuseum
The mill Højer Mølle from the year 1857 is one of Northern Europe's highest Dutch mills. Visit the museum, which informs about the history of the marsh by means of exhibitions, dealing with floods, boats, people in the marsh, the advanced dam as well as the saltwater lake. See the old photos and objects, which illustrate the life of the fishermen by the stream Vidåen. Furthermore, the exhibition contains models of the old floodgate Højer Sluse from 1861 and the new floodgate Vidå-slusen from 1982. In the storage house next to the mill you can see the varying special exhibitions and visit the museum shop, which offers books, postcards and souvenirs among other things. In 1995 a western Slesvig garden was laid-out. The garden has the same structure as a garden from the year 1900. Enjoy the scent from the many roses, perennials, typical plants from the area as well as fruit bushes and trees. There is access to the garden year round, and the entry is free.Højer Mølle- og Marskmuseum
