Helsingør Bymuseum
The town museum Helsingør Bymuseum has been established in the old urban house 'Karmeliterhus'. In 1520 the oldest part of the house was turned into a small hospital for foreign sick sailors by Carmelite monks. After a long and turbulent period, the Carmelite house was converted into Helsingør Bymuseum in 1973. Here you can admire Herluf Trolle's baronial hall, a permanent exhibition about the golden age in Helsingør, a model of the town in the scale 1:300 - an exact copy of Helsingør as it looked in 1801, as well as portraits of the citizens of that time. Furthermore, you can learn more about Helsingør during the Middle Ages and visit interesting exhibitions about WW II as well as the archaeology of the town.
