Handels- & Søfartsmuseet

The maritime museum 'Handels- & Søfartsmuseet' is located at the castle Kronborg Slot - one of the most significant Renaissance castles in Northern Europe. The castle has a history, which goes back to the 1420'ies, and it is famous for its part in Hamlet by Shakespeare. Today, Kronborg Slot is one of Denmark's most important culture-historical attractions. A visit to the castle and/or the museum always begins in the welcome centre, where you can buy entry tickets and receive information regarding current arrangements and special exhibitions. Here you will also find the well-assorted shop with f.x. books, posters, video tapes, reproductions of ship portraits as well as maps from the 18th and 19th century.
