A large psychiatric clinic for Funen and the southern part of Jutland was opened in Middelfart in 1888. The clinic was one of the largest workplace in town, but in the 1970'ies and 1980'ies the clinic was gradually abolished, and in 1997 the psychiatry was moved to a new hospital. The collection of the old clinic informs of the everyday life in former days and the conditions of the institution. Furthermore, art, made by the patients, is exhibited here.
