Fiskeri- og Søfartsmuseet - Saltvandsakvariet
Here you will learn about the diversity of the Danish marine environment and be fascinated by the brilliant adaptability of the fish. The seal pool contains the two seals of the Danish waters: common seal - obviously the most common, and the more rare grey seal. Observe the seals from the pool?s edge or through a 15 m wide underwater window. The seals are fed daily at 11 a.m. and 2.30 p.m.See exhibitions about Western Jutland sea fishery in the 20th century and the shipping in the Jutland Watten Sea from the viking age and up till today. The special exhibition of the year ?Døde hvaler? (Dead whales), tells what happens to a whale when it dies.
Enjoy the open-air exhibition with fishing hamlet, harbour environment, shipbuilding yard and a bunker from World War II. Walk around between the ships, houses and working craftsmen, as in the summer the shipbuilder, seine maker and blacksmith carry out their traditional crafts. The playground offers a wreck, a lighthouse, a chair lift etc.
