Falster sten og fossilsamling

The originator behind the collection Falster sten og fossilsamling, Peter Bennickes, has collected stone and fossils throughout 15 years. 5 of the many thousand finds have been nominated as special Danish finds (Danekræ) by the geological museum in Copenhagen. You can see the interesting finds at the museum, which contains a large collection of geological stones and fossils from the stony beaches of Falster. The fossils originate from the Ice Age and are between 1 mm and 70 cm big. Furthermore, you can see a quite unique exhibition of chalk fossils, finds from the cliffs Møns Klint and Stevns Klint, stone finds from other countries, a vertebra from a fin whale and a tusk from a mammoth among other things.
When you visit the museum, you are welcome to bring stone and fossils that you have found, in order to have them examined.
