Drachmanns Hus

The poet and marine painter Holger Drachmann, born 1846, lived in this house 'Pax' in Skagen for the last 6 years of his life. Since 1911 the house has been functioning as a museum. Furniture, inventory and interior originate from the time, when Drachmann lived. The collection of oil paintings are mainly painted by Holger Drachmann himself, but also other artists from the community of artists are represented here. See works of P.S. Krøyer, Anna and Michel Ancher among others here. 'Drachmann-evenings' are frequently arranged on the museum. Poets are recited, music is played and you are told about the life of the writer.
