Danmarks Museum for Lystsejlads

The yachting museum 'Danmarks Museum for Lystsejlads' was established in the southern wind of the castle 'Valdemars Slot', which originates from 1760. The former stable for the draught horses of the castle today contains an impressive collection of sailboats, speedboats, iceboats, kayaks, rowboats, windsurfers, whole and half models of boats, outboard motors, Olympic medals and exhibition cases with i.a. boat equipment, instruments, models and other maritime objects. The museum aims to document and illustrate Denmark's proud traditions within yachting, and the history behind the yachting, which goes back to the 19th. century, is told by means of text and pictures.
