Anne Hvides Gård

'Anne Hvides Gård' is the oldest privately owned building in Svendborg - a large, two-storied, half-timbered town house. Here you can experience an exhibition about the history of Svendborg and about the south Funen archaeology. The farm Anne Hvides Gård was build in 1560 for the noblewoman 'Anne Hvide til Rødkilde'. At that time it was not unusual that the aristocratic families had 2 residences. During the summer the lived in the countryside and in the winter time they moved back to the town.
