The small and cosy village Tæbring is situated in by the cove 'Dragstrup Vig' on the western coast of Mors.
Tæbring is surrounded by open, unspoiled and slightly undulation nature landscapes, which invite bathing, fishing, surfing, sailing, walks, bicycle trips as well as relaxation. Here you will find peace, quiet and great views of the Liim Fiord, but Tæbring is also an ideal starting point for exclusions, as sights for the whole family are within reach. It is possible to buy groceries in Tæbring, and the 'capital' of Mors, Nykøbing Mors, which offers many shops, restaurants, sights and a cosy harbour atmosphere, is situated 19 km towards east.
Beach The beach of Tæbring is a good Liim Fiord beach with course sand and shallow, clear water. You will also find good fishing possibilities here. The beach of Sillerslev is situated by the harbour of Sillerslev, and is regarded as the best bathing beach of the island. Here the water is shallow and clean, which makes the beach very suitable for children. A beach volley course is available on the beach, which also has a bathing jetty and Blue Flag. Furthermore, surfers will find good conditions here (18 km towards south-east). By Nykøbing you can swim by the beach 'Nykøbing Østerstrand' on the bar 'Ørodde', which is also a good bathing beach with bathing jetty and Blue Flag. The 20 m wide and 20 km long beach with sand and stones has shallow, clear water and a lovely sandy bottom. Beach volley is a very popular activity here (19 km). If you wish to experience the wide, white and sandy beach of the North Sea, the beach of Agger Tange is situated only 32 km from Tæbring.
Nature
Tæbring is surrounded by fields, meadows, recreational areas and water. The plantation 'Sønderherreds Plantage' is situated in the centre of Mors. The app. 1,300 hectares area consists of pines, marshes, small ponds and heather areas. Furthermore, the forest is famous for its 2 ancient mounds 'Skaarhøje' and 'Kløvenhøj' as well as its many fungi (7 km). The small island Agersø is definitely recommendable for bird enthusiasts. The island is a resting place for more rare birds (9 km). The forest 'Legind Bjerge Plantage' is a varied forest with valleys, lakes and high old trees from north-western USA (20 km). From the highest point of the island 'Salgerhøj' (89 m) you can enjoy a spectacular view of Mors, the Liim Fiord and the islands Livø and Fur (22 km). By the moler ditch 'Ejerslev Molergrav' you can see the beautiful moler slopes, which rise steeply from the shore. The most famous place is Hanklit (61 m), which shows a geological history that goes back more than 55 million years.
Activities The fishing possibilities are ideal along the beautiful and varied Liim Fiord shores on Mors. Furthermore a couple of Put & Take fishponds are available in the area, like i.a. 'Morsø Fiskepark' by Nykøbing. Golf players can test the course of 'Morsø Golfklub' by Nykøbing, which is laid out on a meadow area with a stream system. It is also recommendable to drive on bicycle along the small and only slightly trafficked roads, and enjoy the scenic views over the Liim Fiord and the area from here. Mors is ideal for active holiday, and you can follow the marked sunshine route (solskinsruten) all around the island (120 km all together).
Worth a visit
By Tæbring you can experience a grave mound, which has just recently been dug out. In Tæbring you will find a workshop where you can see unique specimens and handicraft. The market town Nykøbing is the 'capital' of Mors. Experience the small and cosy streets in the harbour district with the old workers' houses. The harbour of Nykøbing lies in continuation of the evocative pedestrian street, and here you will find a lovely, local harbour atmosphere and good restaurants (19 km). The convent 'Dueholm Kloster' in Nykøbing is the oldest building in town. Today the 5 historic building are used for exhibitions. The castle Højriis Slot is like something out of a fairy-tale. It is Denmark's oldest manor house and open to the public. Here you will find an exhibition about the Sleeping Beauty among other things (19 km). Mors is an inspiring place for artists, and all over Mors you will find galleries, exhibitions, collections, museums and workshops.
Excursion spots The flower park 'Jesperhus Blomsterpark' is the largest flower park in Scandinavia with colourful flower arrangements, jungle zoo with i.a. beautiful tropical birds, pirate and play land as well as a water world (20 km). 'Skarregaard' by Hesselbjerg is one of the oldest family farms on Mors, and today it functions as a farm museum (35 km). On 'Molermuseet' in Hesselbjerg you can see the amazing finds of 55 million years old fossils (fossilized animals and plants), which were dug out from the moler (35 km). The open-air museum 'Hjerl Hede Frilandsmuseum' is an interesting and lifelike museum. See how the daily life in the country 150 years ago is vitalized (57 km). The scenically situated stone age centre 'Stenaldercentret' in Ertebølle describes the nature in and around Ertebølle 6-7,000 years ago as well as the life of the people in this environment. A reconstructed village shows what the huts of that time looked like (62 km).
