The peaceful holiday area Sillerslev is situated in the south-eastern end of Mors, right by the sound 'Sallingsund' and the broad 'Kås Bredning'.
The fishing hamlet Sillerslev is surrounded by an open landscape, which invites bathing, fishing, surfing, sailing, hiking, driving on bicycle, enjoying nature and relaxing. In the cosy fishing harbour and marina you can dine, follow the activities of the fishermen and buy fresh fish from time to time. By the harbour you will find both a beach and a playground. Close to the harbour, 2 lighthouses have been erected - a rare sight in the Liim Fiord area. The holiday house area 'Sillerslevøre' is an ideal starting point for an active holiday, and at the same time the area is situated close to sights for the whole family. It is possible to buy groceries in Sillerslev, and if you wish to choose between a wider selection of shops and restaurants, Nykøbing Mors lies only 18 km from here.
Beach The beach of Sillerslev lies by the harbour of Sillerslev, and is characterized as the best bathing beach of the island. Here the water is shallow and clean, which makes the beach very suitable for children. A beach volley course is available on the beach, which also offers a bathing jetty and Blue Flag. Tables and benches are at your disposal as well. Furthermore, you will find good surf conditions here.
Nature
The holiday houses by Sillerslevøre are surrounded by a scenic and lush nature with fields, lakes, salt meadows, streams and beach. The landscape is very level with a few ridges, which form steep clay slopes towards the inlet at some places. On the way between the holiday house area and the harbour of Sillerslev you can enjoy some great views of the Liim Fiord and the area. You will find a few small forest areas by the holiday house area and by 'Hesterørodde' as well as a couple of plantations and brushwood in the area. The forest 'Legind Bjerge Plantage' is a very varied forest with valleys, lakes and high old trees from north-western USA (14 km). On the northern part of Mors the viewpoint 'Salgerhøj' is situated. With its 87 metres above sea level it is the highest point on Mors. Mors and the neighbouring island Fur are the only places in the world with deposit of the clay 'moler' in the subsoil.
Activities Windsurfers will find good conditions on the broad 'Kås Bredning' off Sillerslev. In Sillerslev you can play tennis and petanque. By the harbour you will find a playground with rollerskating rink, cycle-racing track and a bonfire place with bbq. From the playground you can follow a path, which leads down through the marsh 'Øster Assels Kær'. This path is called 'Gåsevad' and consists of two marked routes of various lengths, which both lead you by interesting places. It is recommendable to drive on bicycle along the small and only slightly trafficked roads and enjoy the scenic views of the Liim Fiord and the area from here. Anglers will find ideal fishing possibilities along the beautiful Liim Fiord shores. Furthermore, a couple of Put & Take fishponds are available here, like i.a. 'Morsø Fiskepark' by Nykøbing. Golf players can try out the course of 'Mors Golfklub' by Nykøbing, which has been established on a meadow area with a stream system.
Worth a visit
The flower park 'Jesperhus Blomsterpark' is the largest flower park in Scandinavia with colourful flower arrangements, jungle zoo with i.a. beautiful tropical birds, pirate and play land as well as a water world (14 km). The market town Nykøbing is the 'capital' of Mors. Experience the small and cosy streets in the harbour district with the old workers' houses. The harbour of Nykøbing lies in continuation of the evocative pedestrian street, and here you will find a lovely, local harbour atmosphere and more good restaurants (18 km). The convent 'Dueholm Kloster' in Nykøbing, which was founded by the Order of Malta in the year 1371, is the oldest building in town. Today the 5 historic building are used for exhibitions. Mors is an inspiring place for artists, and all over Mors you will find galleries, exhibitions, collections, museums and workshops.
Excursion spots 'Morsø Traktormuseum' by Outrup has a unique collection of 70 tractors (23 km). 'Skarregaard' is an old and well-preserved family farm in scenic surroundings. Today the farm functions as a farm museum (33 km). On 'Molermuseet' in Hesselbjerg you can see the amazing finds of 55 million years old fossils (fossilized animals and plants), which were dug out from the moler (35 km). The open-air museum 'Hjerl Hede Frilandsmuseum' near Vinderup is an interesting and lifelike museum for the whole family.
