The Liim Fiord island Jegindø is a quiet, peaceful and scenic island with a fishing and peasant culture and an evocative harbour.
 Jegindø is about 6 km long and 3 km wide, and the island is connected with the Liim Fiord peninsular Thyholm through a dam. Experience the cosy atmosphere on the harbour, where you will find activity all year round. From time to time it is possible to buy fresh fish here. In addition to the fishing boats and the yachts you will also find a restaurant, a playground, a petanque court and a small museum by the harbour. You can enjoy the lovely views of the Liim Fiord almost everywhere on the island. Here the air is fresh and the nature is clean. On Jegindø you can fish, walk, drive on bicycle, visit museums or merely relax in the tranquil surroundings.
It is possible to buy groceries on the island. Hvidbjerg (6 km) offers more restaurants and good shopping possibilities, and in Struer (24 km) you will find shops, restaurants, sights and the largest marina of the Liim Fiord.
Beach
By the ferry berth you will find the beach 'Bøhl', which is one of the best bathing beaches of the Liim Fiord with coarse sand and shallow, clear water. Another lovely sandy bathing beach is available by the long, narrow spit 'Jegindø Tap', on the south side of the island. The island also offers more stony beaches.
If you wish to experience the wide and white sandy beach of the North Sea, the beach of Agger Tange is situated only 36 km from Jegindø. The beach is about 100 metres wide and consists of both sand and stones. The water is clear and the bottom is sandy with rocks. The beach has the Blue Flag. You will find good bathing and sunbathing opportunities as the many groynes shelter the beach. However, the water is deep with occasional waves and currents.
Nature
 Jegindø is characterized by level meadows and wetlands, and on the northern part of the island, some of these areas are preserved. Here the cattle are grazing and you will also find a rich bird life here.
The island has neither high points nor forests, lakes or streams, but it offers a quiet, peaceful, clean and unspoiled nature with lovely bathing beaches. By low water you can walk no less than one km out on the sea floor by Jegindø Tap.
The plantation 'Hvidbjerg Plantage' is a 40 hectares large low-lying plantation area with hardwood trees and pines (7 km).
The dune plantation 'Lodbjerg Klitplantage' is a 1,050 hectares area with forest, lakes as well as moor and dune areas. 5 different marked walking routes are available in this area (10 km).
On the island Venø you can experience a beautiful and very varying nature. The island has a remarkably rich bird and animal life and is especially famous for its many unique butterfly species (27 km).
Activities
When you spend your holiday on Jegindø you are able to fish along the shores of the island or from the harbour, rent a boat, hike or drive around the island on your bicycle.
Golf players can try out the course by 'Struer Golfklub'. The club offers a scenic, slightly undulation, 18-hole seaside course as well as a 9-hole Pay & Play course (24 km).
Worth a visit
 The small fishing museum 'Æ Fywerhus', which is situated on the harbour, exhibits relics from the old fishing and peasant culture of the island. A modern iron sculpture in front of the museum is a sight in itself.
The former power plant of the island functions as a museum today. See f.x. the old machines and generators on the interesting museum.
By 'Den hellige Kilde' (the holy spring) by the town Helligkilde, south of Hvidbjerg, you can experience a spring, which is gushing from the earth and sending out large quantities of cold clear water all year round (5 km).
'Thyholm Egnsmuseum - Apotekergården' in Søndbjerg is a small museum, which has been established in an old pharmacist's house. Here you can learn more about the culture and history of the district (6 km).
In the cutter and bunker museum 'Kutter- og Bunkermuseet' by Oddesund large bunker installations as well as an exhibition bear witness of the occupation during World War 2 (13 km).
Excursion spots
Visit Struer with the largest marina of the Liim Fiord, a cosy town life as well as more galleries and sights. The culture-historical 'Struer Museum' has been established in the town's oldest estate 'Torngård', and here you can experience an old farmhouse room, a bottle ship exhibition and an ancient collection (24 km).
In Thyborøn you will find the aquarium 'Jyllands Akvariet', where you can stroke a shark on it's head or hold a crap in your hand, 'Kystcentret', which is an interesting experience and communication centre, and 'Sneglehuset' - a house, which is decorated with millions of sea shells both inside and outside (45 km).
The open-air museum 'Hjerl Hede Frilandsmuseum' is an interesting and lifelike museum for the whole family. See how the daily life in the country 150 years ago is vitalized (46 km).
The flower park 'Jesperhus Blomsterpark' on the Liim Fiord island Mors is a large flower park with jungle zoo, beautiful tropical birds, play land and a water world (52 km).
