Thyborønfæstningen

On the beach of Thyborøn you can experience the impressive remains of 66 concrete bunkers from World War II. Thyborønfæstningen is one of Denmark's largest fortifications and was formerly a part of the Atlantic rampart, which stretched from the North Cape to Spain. The object of the fortress was to defend the country in the event of an invasion or an air attack. An exhibition about the history and function of the fortification has been established in one of the remaining bunkers.
