Nybølle Lunder

|
In the forests north of Horslunde you will find innumerable barrows, cromlechs and passage graves. One of these forests is Nybølle Lunder, which contains app. 40 grave mounds of various sizes. Many of the barrows are situated on a row, which indicates that a road lead through her many years ago. In Nybølle Lunder you can equally experience a couple of high-backed fields, which is more than 1,000 years old: 5 m wide banks and 3 m wide hollows, which are placed parallel with each other. As the fields were not drained here, a humid summer meant that the crops, which were planted on a high spot, turned out healthy and good, whereas the crops, which were planted on a low-lying spot, were damaged. If the summer was dry, the situation was reversed. In the northeastern part of the forest you can se a large granite stone with 6 hollow from the Bronze Age, which symbolizes fertility. Blod for the gods was probably sacrificed here.
