Lindholm Høje

The burial place on the hill 'Lindholm Høje' is one of Denmark's most beautiful ancient monuments from the younger iron age and the viking period.
The area consists of several hundred stone circles of different shapes, which are situated on the hillside. Most of the graves are cremation graves, where the deceased was burned on the spot in connection with the burial.
By the end of the viking period the whole area was covered by shifting sand and therefore, the burial place has been preserved up till today.
From the top of 'Lindholm Høje' you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Liim Fiord.
