Hammershus

Hammershus was originally erected in the year 1250 by the authorities of the Church as a protection against the royal power. Therefore, Hammershus occupies a position in the regnumsacerdotium fight, which took place in Europe - and Denmark - during the Middle Ages. The place was deserted in the year 1743 and fell into ruins after that. Today the ruins are a sceduled monument and a sight in a class of its own.
