Rakugalleriet

'Rakugalleriet' is a small gallery, which is attached to a pottery, where the ceramists work with the Japanese raku technique. All of the pottery is glazed and burned according to old Japanese customs. Raku covers concepts like pleasure, lightness, satisfaction, peace and happiness, which characterize the pottery, which are manufactured here. The shapes of the pottery are classical and light, and the glaze often has bright colours, but sometimes also blue and blue-green shades. The glaze is often intersected by cracks, which occur as a consequence of the change of temperatures during the glazing. At the gallery you can see a permanent exhibition of raku pottery as well as varying exhibitions with paintings and sculptures by acknowledged Danish and foreign artists.
