The holiday area Varbjerg Strand is situated in the cove 'Båring Vig' on north-western Funen, between Bogense and Middelfart.
 The stream 'Storåen' runs out by Varbjerg Strand, and by the mouth, a small and idyllic marina has been established. The holiday area is quietly and scenically situated between beach, forest and fields - an ideal destination for anglers and nature lovers. From the restaurant 'Varbjerghus' you can enjoy a view of the water. It is possible to buy groceries in the village Båring, which is situated a few km inland behind the holiday house area.
You will find good shopping possibilities and many restaurants in the charming towns Middelfart (18 km) and Bogense (19 km).
Beach
The beach by Varbjerg Strand is like the nearby beaches 'Båring Strand' and 'Bro Strand' a lovely sandy beach with Blue Flag. The beach is very suitable for children, as the water is calm and shallow. A bathing jetty is available by the beach, which makes it possible to jump into the water. The waters in the cove 'Båring Vig' are also suitable for surfing. It is also possible to sail out from the beach in a small boat. By the beach you will find the small and cosy restaurant 'Varbjerghus'.
Nature
 West of Varbjerg Strand the forest 'Båring Skov' grows all the way down to the water. The forest has a number of marked walking paths. Around the forest, coast and fields characterize the nature.
The forest 'Langesøskovene' is situated 8 km from Søndersø and is a popular excursion spot. Here you will find the estate and the lake of the same name 'Langesø' as well as a small chapel, where it is very popular among bridal pairs to get married. It is possible to walk all the way around the 1,200 metres long lake.
Activities
Anglers have good opportunities for a haul along the shore by Varbjerg Strand. But it is also possible to fish on the sea, onboard a fishing vessel or in a rented boat. Furthermore, the area offers more Put & Take fishponds.
From Bogense you can go on a daytrip to the islands Endelave, Tunø and Samsø.
Around Varbjerg Strand a network of 40 km scenic bicycle routes is available.
Golf players can test the course by 'Golfklubben Lillebælt' in Middelfart.
Worth a visit
 The village Bro, with the original street system and the old, beautiful half-timbered houses, is worth a visit (5 km).
At 'Den Gamle Smedie' (the old forge) in Skåstrup you can see the hand-made candlesticks, which are manufactured on the spot (11 km).
The grave mound Rundhøj from prehistoric Denmark can bee experienced in the forest area Nyhaven by Skåstrup.
The scenically situated museum Kunstgården in Skovby exhibits Danish and international art and handicraft (13 km).
The castle 'Hindsgavn Slot' in Middelfart is situated right at the Little Belt and surrounded by forest. Visit the beautiful castle park with the many rare trees and bushes.
The beautiful white castle 'Wedellsborg Slot' is situated in Husby, and in the castle park you can see fallow deer, lakes as well as rare trees and plants (18 km).
Harridslevgård by Bogense is an interesting Renaissance castle with Denmark's largest baronial hall in private ownership (19 km).
Excursion spots
Middelfart has cosy cafés, a marina, museums and many interesting shops. The town is scenically situated, right by the Little Belt, and surrounded by forest (18 km).
With its marked town atmosphere, old squares, winding roads, fine merchant's houses and many half-timbers houses, the picturesque harbour and the largest marina in Funen, Bogense is definitely worth a visit (19 km).
The preserved island Æbleø lies outside Bogense. The island has a quite unique nature, which can be experienced along the 7 km long walking route, leading you round the island.
'Fun Park Fyn' in Aarup is a water world and amusements for the whole family. When the entry has been paid for, all activities are free (23 km).
In Odense Zoo you can get close to mammals, insects, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles. A versatile animal world awaits you (43 km).
'Den Fynske Landsby' by Odense is an open-air museum, showing a Funen village environment from around the year 1850.
