The charming market town Middelfart is centrally located in Denmark, right by the sound 'Fænøsund' in the Little Belt and the Little Belt Bridge.

By the marina 'Middelfart Lystbådehavn' you will find a lovely bathing beach with the Blue Flag, which is suitable for children.About 5 km north of the centre of Middelfart you can make use of the good and sandy beach 'Strib Nordstrand', which has also been awarded with the Blue Flag.

Scenic coastal areas with narrow fairways, forests and beautiful, undulating nature areas surround Middelfart.Year round the forest 'Kongebroskoven' by the castle 'Hindsgavl Slot' offers lovely nature experiences, good walking paths, a rich bird life and an animal park.
Activities
The golf club 'Golfklubben Lillebælt' is situated about 200 metres from the town centre. The course is a scenic, slightly undulating and challenging seaside course with 18 holes and a great view of the sound 'Fænøsund' the Little Belt. Anglers will find good fishing opportunities along the shore, and the narrow fairways enable you to find good and sheltered fishing spots. Furthermore, a number of Put & Take fishponds are available in the area. You can also go fishing on the sea in a rented dinghy or onboard a fishing vessel.
Middelfart also offers a bowling alley, swimming baths, tennis courts and minigolf courses. Bicycles, boats and horses can be rented in the area.
The scenic nature surroundings and the forests, surrounding Middelfart, invite walks and bicycle trips, where you can experience nature at close range.
Worth a visit
At 'Grimmershus' (Denmark's pottery museum) you can experience modern and international art, studio pottery and ceramic design. The house 'Henner Friisers Hus' is the oldest citizen's house in Middelfart from 1580. The house has been turned into a museum and shows i.a. 2 living rooms, a model of the town anno 1801 and more interesting collections.
At the museum 'Lillebæltsværftet' you can experience a shipping exhibition, old dinghies, wooden vessels and a boat hall.
'Psykiatrisk Museum' in Middelfart from 1888 informs of the every day life at a psychiatric hospital in former times and exhibits art, made by the patients.
Middelfart also offers a number of galleries and exhibitions.
The castle 'Hindsgavn Slot' is situated on the peninsular Hindsgavl, right by the Little Belt, and surrounded by forest. Visit the castle and the beautiful, old baroque garden with ponds, terraces, avenues as well as many rare trees and plants (3 km).
Excursion spots
Experience genuine Funen idyll in the two districts Nr. Aaby and Ejby (11-18 km). Here you will find cosy village environments, beautiful churches, timber frame and winding roads.The amusement park 'Fun Park Fyn' in Aarup offers water world, riding horses and other activities for the whole family (29 km).
Visit the terrarium in Vissenbjerg and see Scandinavia's larges terrarium with reptiles and amphibian from the whole world. Experience crocodiles, snakes, iguanas, frogs and many other exotic animals at close range (32 km).
'Frydenlund Fuglepark' by Tommerup is a lovely nature park with 700 birds, waterhole, aviaries and a walking path, leading you under large old trees and out on the open savannah (41 km).
'Den Fynske Landsby' by Odense is an open-air museum, which shows a Funen village environment around the year 1850 (48 km).
LEGOLAND is build out of 50 million toy bricks. More than 50 activities provide you with speed, excitement and experiences (58 km).
