Rundetårn
King Chr. IV of Denmark (1588-1648) had the tower Rundetårn build. The tower was the first part of the so-called Trinity complex, in which the three most important places for the science in the 17th century were to be united: Astronomic observatory, student church and university library. Let yourselves be fascinated with the exceptional architecture of the tower. The 209 metres long spirally ramp turns 7½ times around the hollow core of the tower and it is the only connection between the parts of the Trinity complex. From the 34.8 metres high platform you can enjoy a wonderful view of the old quarter in Copenhagen. The beautiful iron grating with the monogram of King Chr. IV is also remarkable. Until 1981 the round tower was solemnly used by the university of Copenhagen, but today, everyone can observe the night sky through the fine telescope of the tower during the winter term.
