Klostermølle Naturcenter
The mill Klostermøllen is located where the river Gudenåen flows into the lake Mossø. It is presumed that the convent Voer Kloster by the watermill was build by Benedictine monks during the period 1050-1100, and that the monks constructed the 1,300 m long dam at the foot of the viewpoint Sukkertoppen. The dam directs the water of Gudenåen into a canal, from which a waterfall has arisen. This waterfall drives the watermill. The historic buildings of Klostermøllen illustrate the first industry, which was based on hydraulic power. The trademark of the mill is the 90 m long wooden drying shed Tørreladen. The interior of the shed consists of beautiful wooden constructions. From the gazebo in the northern gable end of Tørreladen you can enjoy a scenic view of Mossø and the whole convent area. The surrounding forests invite walks, and you can f.ex. follow a marked path, leading to the viewpoint Sukkertoppen.Klostermølle Naturcenter
