Højriis Slot

The castle Højriis Slot is one of Denmark's oldest manor houses with a history, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Lords of manors as well as sophisticated ladies, good and evil people, lived here. A lady was immured here and a king was condemned to death. Fires and storms devastated the castle. Towers and walls collapsed and were re-erected. In Højriis Slot you can go on a paper chase, and you can look forward to challenges, amusement and excitement. Listen by the doors, read old letters, find murder weapons and discover hidden secrets. The park consists of the rhododendron garden, the poison garden, the perennial garden as well as lawns, lakes and old trees. Take a walk through the park, spread a blanket out on the grass and enjoy the content of your lunch basket. Alternatively you can visit the cosy castle café.
