Bornholms Middelaldercenter

We offer visitors a unique experience and insight into a medieval world. The Centre is situated in beautiful natural surroundings in a hilly ground with a grassy area, small ponds, woods and the Spager Stream. The intention of the Medieval Centre is to provide visitors with an impression of life on Bornholm during the Middle Ages, especially from 1350 to 1450. Here you can see, smell and feel the Middle Ages in a living medieval environment with animals, houses, a watermill and fortified stronghold with a weapons exhibit. Visitors can also experience the atmosphere when we fire our cannon. From the outset, the concept has been to depict everyday life in the Middle Ages as realistically as possible. This reality requires living workers and peasants pursuing their respective trade wearing the clothing worn during the years 1350 to 1450, as well as domestic animals that were common at that time.
