Læsø Saltsyderi
|
The saltwork Læsø Saltsyderi acts as a productive activity and an active museum. The raw material of the saltwork is collected from the salty water table of Rønnerne - south of the island Læsø. Læsø Saltsyderi is established in reconstructed boiling huts. Here you can experience the process of salt manufacture - right from the boiling in the open iron pans to the drying on the drying loft and the packing of the processed salt. The saltwork produces app. 60 tons of salt each year and you are welcome to buy salt as well as salt boxes, made out of pottery or wood, in the shop Saltboden. The Læsø salt is manufactured year round according to methods, dating back to the Middle Ages. You can boil your own Læsø salt in the outdoor workshop with miniature boiling pans. The children can gambol on the playground, which is laid out in old style. During the summer you can enjoy the Læsø pancakes from Pandekagehuset next to the saltwork.
