Vindeby Mølle

Visit Vindeby Mølle, a Dutch mill, which only rotates with the top - in contradistinction to f.ex. the German windmills. The mill is said to be app. 225 years old. About 125-130 years ago it was brought to Vindeby. At that time the mill was probably used for more than milling flour. It most likely functioned as a draining mill as well. The gate on the eastern side of Vindeby Mølle is a very distinctive mark. In 1959 the mill was listed. The restoration was commenced in 1989, and since April 1998 Vindeby Mølle is fully functional again. Today, the mill is a landmark of the area, which reminds of the local history and the technical results of the past.
