Faaborg Klokketårn

The bell tower is an extension to the former late Gothic church Sct. Nikolaj from the 15th century. The church was pulled down after the Reformation, and today only the bell tower remains. It was formerly used by seafarers to steer by when the approach the town. Furthermore, the tower used to be the starting point for the watchmen. The tower contains a large exhibition with sepulchral monuments from the area. In particular are the so-called 'grave trees', which were very ordinary on south Funen and the surrounding islands in former times, very remarkable.
