Den Lille Havfrue

The Little Mermaid is a bronze sculpture, created by the sculptor Edvard Eriksen, which functions as a national symbol of Denmark. The tourist attraction is inspired by H. C. Andersen, as The Little Mermaid is one of his fairytale figures. Unfortunately, the sculpture has been exposed to vandalism more than once. Different pieces have shamelessly been sawn off the sculpture. Fortunately, the foundry patterns from 1913 still exist, and therefore new parts can always be cast.
