Cloostårnet Bangsbo

Surrounded by the forest Vandværksskoven and 160 m above the surface of the sea, you will find this 60 m high tower. The disabled-friendly elevator leads to the first observation platform, and from here stairs continue to the upper platform, from which you can enjoy the impressive view of Frederikshavn and a great part of Vendsyssel. In clear weather you are able to see Skagen towards north, the sand dune Rubjerg Knude towards west and the ridge Jyske Ås towards south. Towards east some of the islands of the Kattegat are visible. The kiosk of the tower offers ice-cream, drinks, souvenirs and a large selection on interesting stones. When the weather allows it you can enjoy your lunch baskets by the tables in the area and the children can play on the sunny playground by the forest Vandværksskoven. You can also grill on the permanent grill on the spot. When the weather is less inviting, you can eat in the tower while you enjoy the great view.
