Bovbjerg Fyr

The lighthouse 'Bovbjerg Fyr' was built in the year 1877 on the highest point of the cliff. The lighthouse is 26 metres high and from the top you can enjoy the impressive view out in the North Sea and far inland as well. The lighthouse is situated 62 metres above sea level and is visible 19 nautical miles away. In order to avoid that the sailors should confuse the lighthouse with a church tower, the lighthouse was red-washed.
