The stream Skjern Å is abounding in water and transports up to 50,000 cubic metres per minute. With that the stream drains an area the size of Funen. The stream rises in the brushwood Tinnet Krat on the Jutland ridge, close to another great stream: Gudenå. A canoe trip on Skjern Å gives the whole family a holiday experience in the scout way. Here you can become acquainted with the obscure nature. You will find nothing but peace and harmony. Try a varying route, which leads through the many hairpin bends and beautiful lakes, and spend the night in one of the resting areas along the route. A canoe trip on Skjern Å can be commenced by the fish farm Vester Mølle Dambrug, app. 5 km south of Nørre Snede. Life jackets, paddles and a tour guide are handed over at the starting point. Even the inexperienced sailor will quickly learn to steer this light vessel, which is made out of aluminium. It is also possible to borrow extra chairs for the children.
