Hjejlen

Experience the scenic and hilly landscapes around Silkeborg from the world's oldest steamboat. The well-preserved ship Hjejlen from the year 1861 is still sailing with its original steam engine. Together with the other ships of the company Hjejleselskabet (Ternen, Hejren, Falken, Rylen, Tranen and Mågen), Hjejlen sails daily from Silkeborg to different destinations in the area - among others the excursion spot Himmelbjerget. The sail to the 'mountain' Himmelbjerget lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes. During the summer you can also enjoy a cosy evening sail on the lakes of Silkeborg onboard one of the ships.
